Mark Champion -Youth Work Manager

Course  Philosophy

The course places the empowerment of young people at the centre of its philosophy.  It welcomes all professionals working with young people who wish to develop their skills and knowledge in this area.  It will be particularly useful for Counsellors, School Staff, Care Workers, Youth Support roles, Pastoral team members and health professionals working with or wishing to work with young people.

The course focuses upon the use of creative interventions with young people and will resource participants with tools, theory and insight. Participants will be expected to have had some training in communication and/or counselling skills as the course is not a counselling qualification.

This course pays attention to the different cultural and racial factors that might influence a child's or young person's perspective on the world.  It will enable you to confidently develop your work with young people and add a professional base for those seeking to enhance their employability in this area.
